Hagen Brink Consulting Engineers is a dynamic company that provides high-quality dam engineering services since December 2019. Hagen Brink formerly known as DJ Hagen & Associates entered a strategic merger with Jan Brink Consulting Engineering in 2024. A partnership that enhances our expertise and service offerings across the board. We warmly welcome Jan Brink as one of our directors. He brings 22 years of exceptional experience and invaluable industry insight, further enriching our team and the quality of service we deliver.
We are based in Western Cape, South Africa. Hagen Brink Consulting Engineers work with a well established network of co-consultants who specialise in environmental impact assessments and water use license applications. We cooperate with highly regarded dam construction companies throughout South Africa and work across the borders into Zambia and Malawi.
Our core competencies pertain to embankment dams of up to 60m high, and mass concrete weirs up to 15m high. This includes the planning, design, construction monitoring of active projects, as well as continuous dam safety monitoring after completion.
Our company’s main focus is to support agricultural development throughout Africa by facilitating the necessary integrated bulk irrigation water supply.
The dam consulting engineering services provided by our team are regulated by South Africa’s Dam Safety Regulations, as published under Government Notice R139 in Government Gazette 35062 of 24 February 2012. Similar dam safety guidelines and regulations are also fast developing in other countries of Africa.
Our services focus on dam engineering and -safety. Related services, include
water resources planning, bulk water supply and stormwater management.

As the company takes the next step in our growth, we honour the legacy of our founder, DJ Hagen. Over a career of 27 years he shaped dams, careers and lives. His example of dedication and commitment to his clients, colleagues and the industry in which he chose to apply his trade will continue to guide us.
